|08:01 pm - Daylight Savings|
It's struck me the last day or so that we really are in spring-summer time now. If Master Danger and I are to walk at sunrise -- which, in real steamy summer, is the only time my double-coated dog CAN walk -- we have to be out the door a little before 7.
This morning we walked all the way to downtown (the round trip only 2.4 miles, but that will serve). As we walked by the old courthouse, a Cross-fit group on the front steps were doing squats. "You can do it!" the perky instructor said as she circled past all the pairs locked into the pose. "You can do it!"
Master Danger shot me a look -- "Are these people nuts?" -- and trotted faster, past the still shaded fountains, his nails clicking on the old brick.
This evening I went for a post-drink work with friends. There's a big event downtown, a street-party fundraiser with music and barbecue and a beer truck, but I was inside, where every few minutes a friend or acquaintance would walk by our group. I didn't stay long, it seemed, yet the lowering sun was in my eyes as I drove home.
I like the early dusks of winter, myself, but sometimes Daylight Savings isn't so bad.
I must admit that I'm a fan of Daylight Savings!
I suspect you're not alone. :)
Cheers and a great day!
2.4 miles at 7AM will indeed serve. As will an evening drink with friends.
I hope your weekend is just as nice.
I hope YOUR Saturday is swell! Cheers and hugs!

That's twice the walking I manage on my best days, good on you!
Sounds like you had a pleasant finish to your day.
My walking schedule is on behalf of Master Danger, because long walks are His Favorite. (And because he's much more pleasant if I wear him out first thing in the morning! ;))
Sending good thoughts your way. :)
Dogs have much better sense.
Oh, the long warm evenings of summer....
The evening was indeed long, soft, warm -- and I hope you have a weekend full of the same pleasantness. :)

"Are these people nuts?"
I wonder that when I stagger out of my nice gentle Pilates class!
The sound of dog nails on hard surfaces is so evocative. My mum was looking after my brother's dog recently and when he'd gone home she really missed the sound of his nails clicking on her wooden floors.
Pilates is still hardcore, K! Cheers for you! :)
I confess that I'm finding a 45-minute to 55-minute walk every morning and 15 to 20 minutes of weights, Pilates, or plyometrics quite enough exercise -- no need for extremes in my life. :)
Hugs and happy Saturday!
That sounds like an excellent routine. remembering my occasional time in South Florida, I can almost feel the thick, warm air, although here we are having a possibly last blast of winter. Today I knit languidly by a roaring fire as the rain drifts away but by the beginning of the week we'll likely be back up in the 70s. Too confusing...
I hope the rest of your weekend follows the pleasant start of Friday night!
I hope you got rain this weekend, ALH! Cheers, hugs, and Champagne.... :)
Happy Saturday to you, with many hugs and good thoughts.

I agree with Mr D.
Hee! Master Danger thanks you. :)
Cheers and hugs on this Saturday!
I love the longer days, it feels like I get so much more done!
And you live far enough north that the daylight REALLY LASTS. :)
Cheers to you!
