|03:27 pm - Recovering|
Happy weekend to everyone!
I've been off on a work trip this week, which is why I've been silent. It was a great trip, full of learning and enjoying, but it has worn me out. Yesterday in the aftermath I managed to get a few things done, but today? Today is for recovery.
Master Danger is glad I'm back, mostly. He wriggled and cried with joy when I got here, but I'm old news now. He's currently hiding behind the desk at my feet, hovering in advance of dinner time.
I have nothing else exciting to say, exactly, except to report that driving 500+ miles a day gives a person an opportunity to think. And push Scan on the radio, avoiding all New Country stations and honing in on oldies. (Finding "Superfreak" in the midst of South Carolina? Yes please.) And wish for clouds. And look for the horizon amidst the trees.
Even while recovering, I'll keep those glimpses of horizon in mind.
Cheers, and yes, happy weekend!
Welcome home! I kind of love those long car trips for just that reason, as long as there's no LA traffic involved (shudders).
I'm just not a natural driver, I think. :)
Cheers and hugs, ALH!
Glad you had a great trip!!
It was so much better than I'd expected!
Cheers and hugs, Gwynne.
Glad you had a good time :) Welcome back!
Thanks! And a great weekend to you, T!
Pours you a restorative cuppa.
I'm drinking iced tea these days, because of Heat Awfulness.
Aw, Master Danger missed you, :)
Master Danger did miss me a little! :)
Cheers and a great weekend.

It's good to have you back. 500+ miles a day? I am impressed!
To be fair, 500 miles on the first day, and 570 on the last. The rest of the time I was in the same place. :)
Cheers and hugs to you!
Crikey that is a long journey a day
Only two of the six days were long driving days (although the last day's journey was actually 570 miles, which is Too Long).
Happy weekend to you!

Cheers and happy Weekend! Glad you are home.
Thank you! Happy happy weekend to you and yours. :)
Very glad to hear you entered SC and came out well and whole on the other side--even if you don't leave the interstate, it's pretty weird here.
"The kind you don't take home to mother..."
I need to spend a long weekend in the Low Country, I think. Further into South Carolina feels a little less like me. ;)
And you've quoted one of my favorite lines!
Happy Monday to you!
Near the coast is best for me, too--I suspect you'd like Charleston. Come to Spoleto sometime!
Thanks, F! :) Cheers to you!
I will always love the idea of long road trips with the radio on, but I know there's no way my knees would enjoy sitting in a car for hours, even with breaks.
I'm glad your work thing went so well.
I didn't take many breaks on the road, to be honest, and I suffered for it!
Cheers and hugs, S.
'Gah!' is exactly the right response to long long driving days, Rainkatt! :) At one point I started counting all the 500+mile days I've driven in my life, and it was Too Many.
Hugs, and yay rest and progress!
Thanks, L. Hugs and good thoughts sent your way.

A bit belated because I was away for the weekend but Welcome Home. Glad you had a good trip :)
I hope you had a great weekend away!
Hugs, and a lovely start to your week. :)
I used to love long road trips back in the day precisely because it gave me a chance to listen to music, but 500+ miles is a little much. I couldn't do it now, that's for sure. Welcome back! ((Hugs))
Hugs hugs and thanks, my friend.
