|05:15 pm - Day #7, 30 Days of Appreciation: nursing myself through a cold/allergy thing|
This evening I have a ticket for an event, but that ticket will be languishing unused, because I have a headache, fever, sore throat, and body aches.
But that gives me a chance to appreciate the following:
*my new tea, which is Piper's Tea Red Grey, a rooibos and bergamot blend which is light and lovely. If I could breathe properly, I suspect it would also smell wonderful. (By the way, unsolicited and whole-hearted recommendation for Piper's Tea for anyone who lives in the US. Also, they just lowered their prices!)
*closing my eyes and listening to the passing rain
*contemplating a watch of a DVD. Something soothing, perhaps, like Random Harvest or the first half of To Catch a Thief or all of Indiscreet.
What do you do to treat yourself when you're not feeling well?
May you appreciate the middle of your week, no matter what you're doing.
Good for you for staying home! Sometimes that's just the better part of valor.
Red Earl Grey sounds tasty, I shall have to look for it!
The Red Grey is really light and nice. I suspect it'd be excellent iced tea, too!
Cheers for your day.
Hope you feel much better soon!
I drink lots of everything (mostly without alcohol, but sometimes....) and take Mucofen. And I lie around and watch TV (Gaslight
is nice for the aching head) and read things that don't require much of a brain, but mostly I sleep. Even half a degree of fever knocks me out.
Piper's sounds wonderful! I also like Adagio.Edited at 2014-09-16 09:44 pm (UTC)
I went deep into ibuprofen and reading things that didn't require a brain last night. :)
I do like Adagio, but Piper's is a cool small business out of Kentucky, focused on organic ingredients when possible, and I like to support them.
Cheers for your day.

Poor budgie, I hope you feel better soon.
Good enough to go to work today, which is what's necessary.
Cheers and hugs to you!

Thanks, Gwynne! Hoping for cooler weather for you!

Feel better, hope it wasn't a must see event for you.
It wasn't critical, no, although I slightly regret missing it.
Cheers for your day!
I like soup and buttered toast along with a pillow nest.
Feel better soon!!!
Soup and toast were definitely deployed last night!

Get well soon, mate.
It sounds like the bug I've got, so extra sympathy.
It was just allergies presenting as a cold-flu, it seems. We persevere.
I offer you virtual medicine and tea and hugs!
