|07:08 pm - Day #30, 30 Posts of Appreciation: Home|
After a whirlwind trip to see the Aged Parental and assorted family, today I flew home.
The trip itself was v nice: family time, my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant, gorgeous fall russets and golds of the Flint Hills tallgrass, reminiscences, reconnections. But I was ready to be back with Master Danger in my shabby little house, and lo, after a horrifically early-morning departure and two crowded flights, back I was.
The young master cried when I opened his crate door (although he does like his petsitters), and has not stirred from my side. I should clear away some of the detritus from last week's pre-flight madness, but at the moment I'm too tired. I'll just stay here and enjoy the sound of rain against my windows, the huffs of Master Danger from his favorite hiding place, the fact that I don't have to be up before 4:30 tomorrow.
I hope you have something about home to treasure at the start of this week!
Glad you got home safe! We are winding down today before the Holiday Maelstrom hits tomorrow.
Oh dear for Holiday Maelstroms -- but hope there's time to breathe! Cheers to you.

Glad you had a good trip and that you're home safe with Master Danger!
The young master has been pleasingly... not sweet, because he's not, but attentive. :)
Cheers and hugs to you, Gwynne!
Hooray for a good visit home, but oh, my I loathe those early morning flights!
Drying out from a good soaking rain and getting almost caught up after the two week hiatus. Isn't itlovelyto come home?
Hugs and a happy holiday to you!
Yay yay for your soaking rains and for the day after, too. Cheers and hugs, ALH!

Aww, he missed you!
I'm girding my loins for Ritual Sacrifice With Pie Day. We will be driving up to Aged Mum's, but at least this year we won't be doing all the cooking - Caregiver M has always wanted to cook a turkey, so Paul drove up today with a frozen turkey and all the peripherals. We're bringing a few side dishes, chairs, and other necessities.
How wonderful to share the cooking duties! Cheers for that!
Hugs, too, and a good start to the week.
Glad you're home safe, I hope your family is well.
Yay yay for the short week, and yay yay for you!
All the hugs!
So glad you made it back safe and sound, and that if the flight were crowded, at least they flew as expected. I'm sure Master D shares that gladness. Pet-sitters are all very well, but a dog needs his person.
And I needed rain (or my garden, and all the woods and streams did), so I too am loving that sound. Tomorrow I return to the miracle-working chiropractor, in hopes that his magic will work not just for now, but permanently (ha!). And tonight was a long dinner with old friends (we stayed until the buspersons got out the brooms), so life is generally good.
Hurrah for needed rain and chiropractor magic! I hope you're feeling better today and onward.

Glad you had a good trip and a safe return to an appreciative Master Danger.
The weather here yesterday was beyond foul but as I said to J it does make you feel cosy and dry at home.
Alas for foul weather. Hope there were books and tea and warmth indeed for you and J!
All the hugs!
Hi, L! Sending hugs your way! (And good thoughts for the week ahead.)
So glad you had a good time! Master Danger's getting more affectionate?
Master Danger is not affectionate, as such, but he does require more contact and poses slightly less risk for snapping incidents, so we count that as a win. :)
