I began a new workout plan* this morning. The result: Ow.

*I was going to say 'regime,' but that sounds so unpleasant. 'Plan' is better, right?

Anyway, it's not that I've not been working out anyway. I continue my practice of walking Master Danger and then spending twenty to thirty minutes on more focused exercise. But 1) it's summertime and the subtropical air at dawn is mostly steam, so the young master and I are only walking a mile and a quarter instead of two miles, and 2) I'd gotten into a rut, doing mostly the same things over and over.

Having the Amazon Fire stick means that I can buy workout videos and stream them. (I also can watch Youtube workout videos, but those tend to buffer, buffer, buffer, which I would like to note is SUPER-BAD if you're doing, say, leg-lifts, and you have to decide whether to stop or to keep going whilst waiting for the stream to resume, which is how I did 45 leg-lifts on one side a couple of days ago, which, also ow.) And so I did purchase, and so I started this morning.

It was just 20 minutes of Pilates core work, but... Ow.

And as I lay on the floor afterward, knowing in my heart that the muscles which were pleasantly sore at that moment were going to be Uncomfortable hours later, I thought of one of the regular walkers at the park. She, an older woman who didn't start out in very good shape, is dogged about her walks and cheerful and kind to all who pass her. But today, as she rounded the corner as Master Danger and I headed home, she looked hot and less than happy. I waved and said good morning. She nodded, and gritted out a smile. "Well, honey, you think that crawling counts as a workout? 'Cause I'm about there."

I'll probably be about there tomorrow. ;)

I see Crawling Exercise somewhat akin to Prancercise, perhaps. It could be a craze! :)

I honestly feel better if I move, so it's only partially dedication. And the daily walks with Master Danger are REQUIRED -- I shudder to think what he'd be like without them. ;)

Actually, if you do enough crawling I can see it being quite strenuous. ;) Frankly, I salute you for walking in that heat, period. In hot weather, I refuse to go anywhere but my air-conditioned gym. I hope you aren't too sore tomorrow. ((Hugs))

Crawling could be bloody hard on the knees, I'd think! (I did some yoga the other day, and a couple of poses on my knees were less pleasing.)

I admire you going to the gym! I just can't get myself there, so home is my workout place. The morning walks with Master Danger are not exactly my choice -- more like one of the costs of owning him. ;)

Oh dear, an instructor having a "Work Harder" day is a guarantee for the ow-ness! But you are awesome for doing it, and I hope it's helped to relieve some stress.

Today I did the Pilates episode for lower body, which involved a lot of balance work. Ha ha ha. Let me henceforth be known as Lady Off-Balance.

Yes, the woman at the park is really working hard for herself. I admire her.

Kudos for having the discipline to work out! Also, OW. Perhaps a nice bubble bath is in order.

Just bought a new laptop, so I'm currently using my old laptop as well as my new one as I transition all my files and settings over. I'd forgotten what a palaver that can be. But, oh, the lovely thing is that my new laptop runs totally SILENT thanks to the fanless CPU and SSD storage. I cannot tell you how much I love that, especially since the fan on my old laptop was on almost all the time. Also, a cold boot takes only a few seconds and coming out of sleep is instant-on. Bliss.
