|12:25 pm - Using Up What I Have, Post #62|
I'm in the midst of the great fragrance clear-out at the moment....
I've been wanting to replenish my Penhaligon Malabah, but a week ago I looked at my bathroom cabinet and realized that I have three bottles of different scents, each with a few days' worth of use left. Well, that's stupid.
So I've finished my Jo Malone Iris and Lady Moore, and this week will see the end of my Coco Chanel, and then next week will see off the last of the Jo Malone Vanilla and Anise. THEN I can replenish the Malabah. I have to use up what I have first.
This activity is slightly more enjoyable than eating out of the freezer, which I'm also doing. (End of month: I only get paid once at the start of each month.) Let us not contemplate freezer-burn.
This weekend I also went (sneezing) to the organic/no-neonicotinoid nursery, in order to fill up the plant pots I'd already painted. This morning I (sneezing) filled them up. How long will it be until I kill the plants? Let us hope it's not soon. :)
Otherwise, I'm holding off on changing the closets from spring/summer to fall/winter: it's not all that HOT (subtropically speaking), but the dew point is still set at Unbearable and the mornings haven't made the dip into autumn yet. We wait. We wait anxiously.
(And off-topic: Great interview with Michelle Gomez, aka Missy. Her discussion of rejection is inspiring me today. Also, she's just the damn coolest.)
Cheers to all, and may you use what you have in all the best ways.
I need to try more Penhaligon fragrances (I love Opus 1870 which I received as a gift one Christmas(.
That scent sounds amazing! Hope you do get to explore further. :)

The interview with Michelle Gomez was a delight. I'm quite getting to like Missy, too.
Good on you with the using up of things. We aren't quite as good about that here, but it's harder with four people.
Ms Gomez is just so awesome. :)
Hugs and a good start to your week!

Enjoy the perfumes!
It's odd, because I have loved these scents but have to struggle to finish the bottles. I have no idea what that's about. ;)
Cheers and hugs!
What a wonderful interview and I loved the clips.
Fingers crossed that your plants last longer than mine tend to.
She's the coolest. I hope you get to see the episodes soon!
And I am a stone-cold plant murderer, but we will live in hope. :)

I hope it cools down for you soon.
Two weeks until the good morning chill should kick in. :)

I'm not sure I'd handle getting paid once per month very well, but only a couple days left and then you can start fresh!
It's actually a fairly good way to help budget. But things do get a little tight at the end of the month. :)
Cheers for your Monday!
I just did a freezer inventory this evening, because it was full up but I didn't have a clue what was in there. So, I will also be eating my way through the lot over the next couple of weeks. Sadly, some frozen bananas will have to get chucked but I did find a couple of Fudgicles so that was a nice surprise :-)
May you find some delightful surprises in your freezer, too!
I have a v. tiny freezer, so not too much gets lost in it. Except perhaps black-eyed peas. :)
(I like black-eyed peas in theory, but I'm never in the mood for them.)
Cheers and hugs and more Fudgicles for you!
