|06:35 am - Paragraph-at-a-Time story, #2|
Paragraph-at-a-time, which in this case is, um, five paragraphs but they're short.
End of last time's entry was When she answered it, the voice on the other end was warm, deep, a sorcerer's voice. Tim. "Hey, Jessa," he said without preamble, just as if it hadn't been a year since they'd spoken. "We got a problem. The Branch is about to fall."
Tim. The Branch. Falling, falling, and the pain --
Without thinking, Jessa put her hands to her eyes to block it all out, and then shrieked.
“Jessa, hon?” Tim said impatiently. “It's bad, the Branch and everything, but you and I together have enough magic to save Summerhaven. Maybe. So--”
“So I know all that, Rodriguez. I accidentally got jalapeno in my eye,” she snapped through the tears.
The phone hummed in her hand, silent. She let the tears go. Falling, falling, and the pain.
May your day be free from kitchen accidents!
I remember chile oil all too well. My sympathies to Jessa. I like your new thing here.
It does burn, doesn't it? Alack for poor Jessa. ;-)
And thanks, F, and thanks twice!

Ouch! Good writing, but ouch!
Jessa's not having a good time at the moment. [nods]
Hugs and thanks, A!
Hee -- I'd hoped for a laugh and a wince. :-)
Thank you thank you, S, and a good day despite adversity!
Laugh and wince indeed. Looking forward to the next bits.
Thank you thank you, ALH, and good knitting-spinning-and-booking today!

Ack! Poor Jessa...
Jessa's not enjoying herself at the moment, it's true.
Thank you thank you, Gwynne. Happy end of whatever-day-it-is to you! :-)
Eeee! And thereby hangs a tale.
We spin out the tale slowly, slowly...
Thank you thank you, A! Hugs and good thoughts, too.
Chilles in eyes! I know that far too well!
Poor Dormouse, as well as poor Jessa!
Thank you thank you for reading, and a good almost-Saturday to you. :-)
