|09:38 am - Putting Unlike Things Together|
Thing the First: this Sartorialist post, which features a stunning set of photos of Cary Grant.
Thing the Second: bizarre weather this morning, with passing showers which didn't look real.
Thing the Third: a drabble which combines the two.
“Come on, Dog,” the woman says, pulling her recalcitrant companion through their morning walk.
The neighborhood park is quiet, the regular walkers nowhere to be seen. The strange mist must be keeping them away…
The Dog sniffs at something the woman can’t see, stiffens, barks. The Woman looks up.
Rain – sun-shot, false, glamourous – drifts down on the path ahead of them, then parts.
A man-- sun-shot, real, glamourous – appears. The mist glints on dark hair. An unseen keylight catches the threads in his suit, but he’s shining more deeply than any fabric.
Rain fades. Man’s gone. Dog and Woman sigh.
May there be magic in your day today. :-)

Re: There's hope
Wouldn't it be lovely! :-)
[hugs and good cheer]
(PS. Sorry you'll get this twice; I was logged in as Another Person first. ;-))
Smiles sent in return! :-)
Happy end-of-Wednesday, Rainkatt.
Ah, Cary Grant... :-)
Mr Grant's beauty still astonishes me. :-)
Hugs and a happy end to your Wednesday!
Thank you, A!
Good cheer, plus hugs back. :-)
Thank you! (And a good almost-Thursday to you, too.)
This was just what I needed at the end of a very long, not quite rainy day. Thank you!
Thank you, F!
May today be easier and perhaps less misty.
Cary in the rain....sigh.
Cary Grant is a shining star. :-)
Happy Thursday to you!
Oh! Wonderful drabble -- a park in Elsewhere, Elsewhen ... remember when he doffed his clothes for a swimsuit in "To Catch a Thief"? And one might have thought "the man is aging, this could be a mistake ..." and then -- no mistake. Nope. What's the opposite of mistake?
That's what comes of having to support oneself as a teenager as a circus acrobat, I reckon.
H_P! [sends good cheers and hugs]
And now I have to rewatch To Catch A Thief. :-))
Happy weekend, H_P.
