08:14 pm - Is All I'm Sayin'
Wednesday, tired:

*A mind is a terrible thing to lose -- especially if it has been eaten away by the Devil Pollen, a yellow menace straight from all these vicious oak trees the skies.

*Also, in a feat of stunning physical grace I managed to smack my head against the edge of the roof of my car, and OW, and also, please hand me some damn Tylenol.

*Today's mot juste re the Dog of the House, from an interested passerby: "She's very... princessy."

*Navy blue is the colour of the season for me, in a dive straight back into my sartorial roots. Next up, pink and green, worn together without irony.

*Opened my 'current' writing project file. I count that as a moral victory (see mind-loss, pollen-related, above).

*Have learned that gardenia shrubs are v.v. sensitive plants, and when transplanted into a new soil, often react by refusing to open their buds. Yes, the shrub sits there, laden with full green potential, and yet hoards its hurt inside. THIS EXPLAINS SO MUCH.

*Castle makes me inexpressibly happy. (Also, have begun to dream about Jon Huertas, I'm just confessing that right now.)

*And in honor of Poetry Month, a random stanza for your delectation, from "the song of mehitabel":

the things that I had not ought to
i do because i ve gotto
wotthehell wotthehell
and I end with my favorite motto
toujours gai toujours gai

May you dance through the rest of the week!

Sorry about the Devil Pollen and smacking your head on the car roof.

But yay pink and green!

It's not purple and green together, but close enough. :-)

Hugs and a good Thursday, Gwynne!

*Hands over damp washcloth to wipe pollen from injured brow and the tylenol*

OUCH! Have done the same thing. Hope it is better.

Clint and I drove into Atlanta today to be greeted by the site of a city covered in pollen coated smog. Strangely fascinating and horrifying at the same time {G} We decided pollen coated cars and clothes were not so bad.

Love the fashion choices! (Did you see Project Runway last week? OHHHH, black and white flowy dress....purty).

[accepts aid gratefully]

I sympathize with you for your pollen-smog -- that's insult added to injury, absolutely!

And hurrah for flowing dresses and for you! [hugs]

there's life in the old girl yet

Julia, my hardy gardenia turned up its nose and died on me, but they are capricious and irrational plants by any measure. Too bad they are the definitionof deluxe

Yes, mehitabel is still kicking. And so are we!

You're quite right about gardenia on both counts.

Hugs and a good Thursday!

There are drifts of pollen everywhere. I've had to windex and wipe down the windshield before I can drive in the morning and my eyelids keep sticking to my eyes. Pollen is absolutely the devil's favorite tool.

toujours sneeze et toujours gai!

Yes, pollen drifts! It's just not right, is it?

And I love your reworking of the poem. Ain't it the truth.

[hugs and antihistamines for you, Susan]

See you later, without poetry. ;-)

Oh! You have explained so much, truly -- I am a gardenia!

I keep thinking that I should watch this Castle thingy ... N. Fillion is very soothing, in a "everything's going to be okay" fashion.

Oh, my head. Here's hoping that the pollen finds its way home, soon.

::hugs::

H-P, hi hi hi!

First: I think that we should have a new phrase to explain to our friends and loved ones, "I'm sorry, I'm having a shocked-gardenia day." Don't you think it would be helpful shorthand?

Second: oh, the pollen. Yes, the stabbed-in-the-sinuses feeling I get when I stay outside for more than a minute is Not Good. [hugs and Sudafed]

Third: Castle is ultimately soothing comfort-television. And it's also pretty darn good about gender, actually....

Hugs again!
