|01:39 pm - Aloofness and the appropriate deployment of same|
INTERIOR. HOUSE. 9:15 am today:
SMALL BLONDE DOG: Are we going to the office today?
L: No. It's Sunday.
SMALL BLONDE DOG:[turns face away, sighs] Woe. I am disappointed, and thus I will be aloof.
L: Want a bath?
SMALL BLONDE DOG: [aloof] I suppose.
INTERIOR. HOUSE. 9:22 am today:
SMALL BLONDE DOG: [wriggles madly on the living-room rug] Clean! Clean! Thank all good spirits, I'm clean!
L: [covered in wet fur, holding an armful of wet-fur-bestrewn towel] I hope you're happy now, Blonde One.
SMALL BLONDE DOG: [glances over, stops wriggling, turns face away] Oh, YOU. I am aloof, minion who disappoints me, and don't you forget it.
EXTERIOR. BACKYARD. 1:15 pm today:
[Something rustles under the newly mulched azaleas.]
SMALL BLONDE DOG: [advances] Hullo! Is this a lizard?
SNAKE in AZALEAS: [hisses]
SMALL BLONDE DOG: [advances another couple of steps forward, ears on alert] Fascinating! This requires investigation--
SNAKE in AZALEAS: Hiss. Can you not see I'm hissing? I'm going to bite your FACE if you come closer!
L: [leaps forward, scoops up the Small Blonde Dog, commences to running] OhmyGod whatever happened to 'aloof', you idiot dog?
INTERIOR. HOUSE. 1:17:
SMALL BLONDE DOG: You are no fun at all. [turns face away] I shall be aloof NOW, lady.
The Blonde Dog is unamused. And aloof. ;-)
(Happy Sunday, Rainkatt!)

I'm glad you're both okay.
TOO MANY SNAKES.
[hugs] Happy Sunday, L!
Gosh, Her Majesty showed some rather worrisome Investigation, happily you were able to foil any attempted Acquisition!
Oh, dear. That is perfect. :-)
Thank you for the grin and the approbation -- and a happy Sunday to you!
But heeeee, nonetheless. :-)
And the snake was out on the lawn when we went outside after Madame's dinner. [shudder]
Smiles and a good Sunday, Gwynne! [hugs]

I'm glad Her Aloofness (and you) are none the worse for the experience with the shuddersome snake!
Today was a snaky day all around, and I do not enjoy them. [shudder again]
I hope your week stays snake-free, K, and is good in all other particulars too. :-)
I do love you. And the Small Blonde Dog. [squeezes and belly rubs for whoever wants them]
[squeezes and hugs right back]
Happy almost-holiday! :-)

The Blonde One thanks you. ;-)
Happy start of the new week, A!
Sssssnake! The Small Blonde Dog is lucky you're not aloof.
There were three snake-sightings yesterday, and I'm still quivering. The Blonde Dog, eh. ;-)
Happy Monday to you!
She really, really didn't appreciate it at all. Bless her. (But eeeek, snakes.)
Happy Monday, L!
Why'd it have to be snakes?
You tell good story!
The doggies and I were out at the Big Park yesterday and met a Corgi with Australian Shepherd coloring, including ice blue eyes. Human was pretty offended that I had the audacity to ask whether she was some sort of mix (this, imagine, after he had suggested that Doggie 1 was eating all of Doggie 2's food! Rude!) ...
To sum up: we hates snakes!
Thank you for the Indy reference, as it's been ringing in my head for over twenty-four hours. :-)
And thank you for your park story -- that human was rude, indeed! Poor Doggie 1 can't help it if she's more full-figured than a greyhound, for pete's sake... Anyhoo, Cardigan Welsh Corgis can have blue eyes and still be show dogs, but Pembrokes can't. (Madame has v expressive brown eyes. Generally expressing aloofness, of course.)
Happy Monday, H_P! And hugs to you and your Doggies, too!
Her Blondness always entertains...
She would thank you, but she's currently sulking in an exaggerated manner. ;-)
Happy... well, Tuesday! :-)
