12:19 pm - A Meme Wot I Made Up Myself
Before I go off to write and work and possibly clean out a kitchen drawer (hey one of these things is not like the other, one of these things is not the same), I wave at you all and offer A Meme Wot I Made Up Myself.

[This meme does not require tagging, statements of purpose, or graphics unless you want 'em.]
[This meme is for entertainment purposes only. Do not use to diagnose any serious condition.]
[This meme is an 'umble meme, a meme of rags and bones.]
[This meme is non-profit and tax-exempt.]
[This meme is totally, like, optional.]
[This meme might contain spoilers.]

So, The Meme.
1) Take a source you love -- books, movies, TV series, etc.
2) Write five words that give the flavor of the source or your experience of it.
3) Write five phrases that give the flavor of the source or your experience of it.
4) Cap it with your favorite quote or image from the source.

1.Georgette Heyer's Georgian and Regency novels
2. fizz, lace, rapier, chocolate, courtesy
3. a well-cut coat over a man's broad shoulders, the perfect leg, a woman's skirts gathered in her fists as she runs, lamps flaring high as a dancing couple turns, the creak of a phaeton driven too fast
4. "'Oh, Damerel, must you be foxed just at this moment? How odious you are, my dear friend!'"

1. Lois McMaster Bujold's Chalion novels
2. dust, apricots, gods, deaths, journeys
3. a guttering candle by a dead man, internal scars, the gesture for the Five Gods, doors opening and opening and opening in an unending line, the cold of stone and ghosts
4. "'What is this astonishing foolishness, that shines brighter than all my father's gold? Can you teach me to be such a fool too, Caz?'"

Okay, now you go. :-)

And may your Sunday-into-Monday be full of good memories and images!

That is sheer elegance and I am insufficient. But I love your answers, particularly "2. fizz, lace, rapier, chocolate, courtesy"

Cheers, L, and see you tomorrow! I am baking brownies and soon will be sipping a wistful glass of champagne before the onslaught. May I save you a seat at the opening meeting?

I'll just tag along with yours, please. I think I have a copy of Venetia around here somewhere...definitely time for a re-read.

A reread of Venetia must always be acceptable as a superior diversion!
