We join this journal already in progress...
Or, rather, the writing is in progress: one fantasy-romance novel (Traveller and Wish-Queen) about to be slipped into another envelope to be sent out, one short story ("Windmill Man") now in submission, another fantasy-romance-comedy-riff-on-The Comedy of Errors halfway done.
The journal -- well, we'll begin in the middle here, too. Pretend there's been an introduction. Pretend you know about my love of strange shadows on a windy day; about what Nathaniel Hawthorne called the essence of 'romance' (as opposed to 'novel'), cool moonlight changing a room from familiar to uncanny; about transformations and comic endings, about flawed characters and eucatastrophes and buckets of magic.
To follow in due course: notes about dogs and weather, books and music, word-love and the occasional writer's whinge. No word-counts!
That'll do to go on with, I think.

Waves:) You can do it.
[waves back] Thank you, my friend. :-)
I'm so proud of LJ-ers I know who are breaking into professional markets.
Now the question is, will the professional markets break ME. ;-)
But we live in hope, and thank you!
*waves hello and friends*
Hi hi, and thanks! [waves hugely back]
I've never seen your original fiction, but your fanfic is so great, I feel sure that this is, too.
And many yays for submitting!
Thank you thank you, and I send the good writing thoughts back to you!
Yay for you! Wouldn't miss this!
Watch me fall on my face! ;-)
But thanks, K, and more thanks.
Hi hi hi! [waves back and sends thanks]
