|06:06 pm - Hashtag Sunday|
Although I am on Twitter (as Laurawise5), I'm not so much a participant but an onlooker. One of the things on which I look is that delicious and ultra-versatile hashtag, and the many ways it might comment on what else is being said. So -- my hashtag Sunday.
*Best close to a letter ever: Noel Coward to bon vivant Alexander Woollcott, May 1932. All my love, you wicked, grasping old bitch. #snarkandbeyond #heonlysortofmeantit
*As I was watching the (for the nonce) Youtubed screening of Henry IV Part Two this morning, I came upon the moment I always dread -- when Hal takes the crown from his 'dead' (NOT YET DEAD, HAL, JEEZ) father and goes off to the throne room to put it on. In a proper theatre I can't allow myself my natural reaction, which is to curl up on myself moaning, "Oh baby, NO, so ill judged, ack, BABY NO." (I am a Prince Hal partisan, I admit it.) And then... Mr T Hiddleston played the SHIT out of that scene, and he made it totally, totally work. #willwouldhavewanteditthatway #headcanon
*35 minutes of cardio today, thanks to blasting the Pet Shop Boys' 1988 album Introspective. #thanksneil #thankschris #moderndayBrechtandWeill #butyoucandancetoit
I'd do a hashtag about the Blonde Dog's illness, but all I can say is that she's hanging in there. Also, she's being spoiled rotten. There's no hashtag for that.
Cheers to all. What's your hashtag for today?
I must see that Hiddleston Henry IV
Glad the Small Blonde One is hanging in.
My hashtag for the weekend is, alas, #IWishIWereAtReadercon
. But at least Readercon's about done for the year, so I can stop whining about it.
THiddleston (and Jeremy Irons) are freakin' magic. #toogoodtobetrue
Hugs hugs, and I'm sorry the weekend has been so unhappy-making for you. Feel better!
Pet Shop Boys!
*hugs you and the blonde one*

I'm glad Miss T is hanging on and that the scene hit the spot so well.
As so often happens, #lazySunday
I really have to see this Henry IV
-- it's been SUCH a long time since I read/saw the play!
I only really know Alexander Woolcott from the lovely, hilarious memoirs of Harpo Marx... what an amazing time they lived in!
sounds just about perfect, K. :-)
The Woollcott-Coward letter bit came from The Letters of Noel Coward
, which also made mention of the Algonquin Round Table (of which AW was so famous a member)....
Hugs for a good week ahead!
The tears, L!
Hugs and a good Monday ahead to you!

[hugshugs] for you and good wishes for the SBD.
[hugs and good thoughts sent your way too] Hope you have a good Monday, A!
I so wish I was watching your Prince Hal instead of waiting vainly for forklifts to load our 4 pallets worth of stuff out to the boatyard where we will be allowed to break down the pallets we created two hours ago and reload the minivan and trailer. Whee.
Comic-Con holds no pleasures for me, alas...Can that be a hashtag?
I'm so sorry your hashtag is #ComicConHoldsNoPleasureForMe
, ALH. Hugs and good thoughts that it's OVER!
And a happy Monday full of recovery as well as travel.
I'm saving all those BBC Shakespeares for a marathon viewing later.
No thoughts on hashtags though.
I haven't seen Richard II yet -- I'll wait until the DVDs -- but the Henrys have been AMAZING.
Cheers and happy writing, Stevie.
