|08:02 am - Eight Things I Love in This Eighth Month of the Year|
Right now I'm loving --
1) A long squeeeeze of Persian lime in ice-water.
2) Justine Picardie's editing of Harpers Bazaar UK.
3) The Dangerous Dog's enthusiastic chasing (but not catching) of squirrels, the thunder across the freshly mowed
veldt backyard, the happy trot back to me post-chase.
4) Thinking about Noel Coward plays, specifically Private Lives, specifically this: Anna Chancellor and Toby Stephens in the Chichester/London production 2013.
5) Mmmm, dressing gowns on a long, lounging man. Like THIS.
6) There's a luxe dressing-gown in Traveller and Wish-Queen, actually.
7) Thunderclouds upon thunderclouds, dark-shot cities of cumulonimbus threat/promise with wind on their borders, sweetness in their wake.
8) My newly resoled and polished black riding boots, now ready for the first day the subtropics drop below surface-of-the-sun temperatures.
What do you love right now? May you have many many things to love. :)
A terrific list! Let's see...what I love is Little Boy coming so near to my ankles that I almost felt his whiskers and flat, iron-blue ocean water and a thousand tiny shorebirds at dawn.
oh, and long elegant men in dressing gowns ditto.
Hurrah for Little Boy, dawn beach walks, and OF COURSE men in dressing gowns. :)
Cheers for your Saturday!
That's an excellent list.
I hope YOU have an excellent list today, too! Happy Saturday.
Very good list :)
Right now I'm loving this nice stretch of actual hot summer weather.
Hurrah for the weather you want on this late-summer weekend! :)
Cheers to you, T.

Very nice dressing gown:)
Yes, it is! :))
Cheers and hugs, L, and a great Saturday.
What a gorgeous man, in the dressing gown!
Today I love watching the birds playing in the rain, and the cat coming in a little damp from it. And me inside snuggled under a Mexican blanket with a cup of hot tea and a nice mystery.
Dressing gowns make attractive men more gorgeous, I think. :)
And what a wonderful list for you. May the book be good, may the rain be beneficial. Happy Saturday!
I am not loving a lot right now, but your list has inspired me to look for things to love today. :-)
C, I'm so sorry you're not loving a lot today -- and I hope you find FAR MORE THAN 8 things you do love. Hugs!
Why did I miss Private Lives when it was in Chichester? Ah well, I'm seeing Richard III next Saturday.
Oh hurrah for theatre-going, especially with theatre like that! :)
Happy weekend (what's left of it), Stevie.
A wonderful list!
Needless to say, I am loving GH. :-)
So much to love about GH! The veterans are so freaking strong. :))
Cheers, Gwynne, and hugs to you for your weekend!
The vets, plus the awesome Kathleen Gati as Dr. Obrecht. :-)
She feels like a veteran! Her work is perfectly pitched to theirs. :)
One thing I've been loving today is the smell of damp summer trees -- that shrieks of the Northeast to me (or perhaps southern Mississippi just after a summer rainstorm). Oddly, I encountered it today as we drove into the redwoods between southern Oregon and north coast California, enhanced by the scent of sea breezes, slithering up the Smith River from the beach.
The Ashland plays were delightful...details when I can type on a real keyboard.
Hugs and hoorays for your lovely list!
Hurrah for rainwashed trees, sea breezes, and awesome plays! Also, hurrah for you!

Off the top of my head - one thing that always gives me a happy:
I stagger out to the kitchen before 5AM on a weekday. Patches just escorts me to the kitchen and starts agitating for breakfast, but Shadow...
Shadow either stretch-walks across the livingroom to meet me, or just waits in whichever chair she's slept in. She squeezes her eyes at me and puts her head up to be petted, and she purrrrrrrrssss. She's always happy to see her human mommy in the morning, and that's all she wants right then, a good petting and purring session with me.
Unconditional love, at least until it's time to start opening cans. I'll take it.
That is an excellent happy-making thing. :)
Cheers and a wonderful week ahead for you!
