|10:44 am - 5 Saturday Pleasures|
What makes you happy today?
For me, it's:
*after-workout stretching ( to recover from a long week, heavy cardio, too many days wearing heels)
*this morning, the smell of freshly cut grass, which although I'm HUGELY allergic to it is a favorite scent
*Benadryl, post-smelling freshly cut grass -- yay breathing ;)
*Benedict Cumberbatch shot by Annie Leibovitz in the September issue of Vogue, languid, lounging, and suggestively untucked
*a pitcher of iced Fortnum and Mason green tea with ginger, with my own additions of freshly squeezed lime and a bit of sweetener
Happy days to you all, and may your list of pleasures be even longer.

That photo's probably now in the Oxford English Dictionary next to the word. :)
Cheers and hugs, L!
Oh, that Benedict! So cool and so hot .
LIke iced ginger tea, which sounds perfect...
Iced green tea with ginger (and lime) is perfect for a summer-into-autumn day. Mr Cumberbatch, I reckon, is perfect for any time. :)
Cheers and a lovely Saturday to you!
Let's see- a fresh apple and a bottle of tulsi-lemongrass tea; someone coming to take away the desk in the back room; being forced to clean off said desk and finally throwing a small mountain of paper and junk away; Bettye Lavette's book 'A Woman Like Me' and watching her on Youtube http://youtu.be/EJi6maTueSc;
and this dance from last weeks So You Think You Can Dance- http://youtu.be/El8L9KlAIUc
Apple and tea, clearing out, and great things to read and watch -- that couldn't be better! [applause for you]
(And wow, that dance was remarkable.)
Hugs and a great evening!
I loved that dance beyond all reason....thanks for reminding me!
I had an energy bar today that tasted like cut grass. Doesn't have the same happiness quotient as smelling it.
Getting ready to BBQ some steak with corn on the cob...yummy happy evening.
BBQs are fab. Enjoy yours, and enjoy your weekend, T! [hugs]

Hmmm, happy things?
I got out for my coffeeshop breakfast and a few yard sales.
I finished another lesson of the map as art class, which you've already seen and commented on, thank you very much!
I love the smell of fresh-cut grass too. Alas, allergies. It's been a bad summer for allergies all around.
That photo of Benedict Cumberbatch... *makes incoherent wibbly noises*
Art and coffeeshop breakfast and yard sales -- sounds like a really good day. :)
And I should have warned more for the B Cumberbatch photo. I flipped a page in my hard copy of the magazine and said, out loud, "Good GOD." Master Danger was most perplexed. :)
Hope your Sunday is delightful!

And I should have warned more for the B Cumberbatch photo.
No, no, it was a delightful surprise! At least I didn't make loud incoherent wibbly noises, so I didn't have to explain myself to the Husband. That would've been embarrassing. I must remember to show it to the Younger Daughter, though. Heh heh heh.
Younger Daughter was much taken with the photo. She turned pink, and said "Well, HELLO!" So I think she liked it.

That Annie Leibovitz shot is certainly a happy thing! (I love her art!)
For today -- seeing flocks of wild love birds on our morning walk! And I made caramel popcorn for later tonight.
Leibovitz sure 'nough knows her way around a camera. :)
Cheers for love birds and caramel popcorn and you! Happy rest of the weekend!
A visit to Skylight Books and getting to say hello to their bookstore cat. :-)
You are inexpressibly cool, Gwynne. :)
Cheers and hugs!
For reasons I cannot explain, I haven't jumped aboard the Cumberbatch wagon -- however, that shirt is to die for, and he does wear it, and the pose, well, doesn't he?
Yay breathing and yay fresh cut grass! and, as we know, the necessary exercise!
The shirt is actually of American design (and possibly make) -- Billy Reid is a designer out of Florence, Alabama, and according to his site, his clothes are made in "artisan facilities in the US and Europe." I find that sort of interesting. (Also, that green is gorgeous, and gorgeous against Mr Cumberbatch's pallor.)
Cheers for your own self and the wonderfulness of you! :)
We saw a splendid modern-dress production of Richard III in a medieval barn last night. Today I shall be mostly watching F1, and tomorrow I have vague plans about gardening.
Theatre, racing, and gardening -- pleasures to savor indeed, Stevie! :)
Your lists always make me happy!
And today the smoke has subsided in our neck of the woods...fingers crossed for the rest of the state to follow suit soon.
Hugs and a toast in cooling iced teas....
Thank you, ALH!
And I've been watching with alarm the news about your state's wildfires. Stay safe, and may good rains come, may smoke dissipate.
