|07:05 pm - Cold Front |
A cold front is coming. The sky turned heavy this afternoon, like a shadow of the pressure-line still a couple of hundred miles north. It won't be super cold -- not even in subtropical terms -- but I might have to consider turning on the heat tomorrow.
Tonight, I'm combating the pressure-change headache accompanying the front with hot tea (decaf, Twinings Lady Grey, black, squeeze of lemon). I've even brought out the tea cosy, which tells you I mean business. But what else should herald the first real touch of chill?
Master Danger is currently no help. He's had his ten minutes of playtime (which is all he wants, as he grows bored easily), and is now licking himself meditatively. At least he's not still barking at the neighbor's dogs, I tell myself.
So I guess I'll huddle on the couch, rewatch last night's Sleepy Hollow episode (A++, beautifully insane), open poetry books without reading them, listen to the wind rising in the old oaks.
May you have a wonderful middle of the week, and may all your changes bring goodness.

Enjoy the autumn weather (and I hope your headache subsides!).
We're supposed to have hot weather tomorrow, bah!
Yay tea cosy! :-)
Bah! for your hot weather. :(
Hugs, tea, and maybe a cookie or two -- happy middle of the week!
Same thing here, cold front, dark clouds, odd rumblings in the sky. More worrisome, a lot of sirens in the distance, three times over the last 5 hours. It feels like things are restless that shouldn't be.
I think the book on horror movies is coloring my perspective a little bit. ;-)
Oh dear, sirens. :( Last night we had helicopters overhead for an hour, which also is worrisome.
Hugs and no horror! And enjoy the cold.
Wheee, snow! I hope that means good things for you. :))
Hugs and a great Wednesday!

The tea sounds lovely and a perfect accompaniment to a cold spell.
Tea is always a thing of the good. :)
Cheers, T! Happy Wednesday!
34 here last night! I am delighted, even though it meant moving and covering up all the plants.
Wow, that's really cold. [rethinks plan to retire to the Hill Country]
We'll be in the upper 40s tomorrow [edit: tomorrow MORNING; high of 73], which means I should think about turning on the heat....
Enjoy autumn, Cronopio! :)

It's sooo cold. My poor students were shivering today and so was I, delicate tropical blossoms that we are.
Tomorrow it's back in the '70s, so that's that I suppose, at least until January.
Hope things are well!
It was deliciously cool here (with appropriate sweater, boots, scarf ;)), but I suspect tomorrow morning's sunrise walk is going to be COLD.
Long-range forecast says we'll get another chilly blast next week, but that can always change....
Love the image of snuggling up with the tea and cozy...
Bundled up with comfy blankets here at the B&B after a full day of book scouting and an excellent meal. One more day f research then set up for the Friday bookfair opening night.
Oh, blankets and maybe tea, with good books around and more good books to find -- what a great evening! Enjoy!
