|10:07 am - White Tie |
Today's Moment of Respite:
So the annual vanity Fair Hollywood issue is out, and it has some extremely attractive people on the cover. (Idris Elba is beyond everything, it has to be said.)
Here's the video of the Annie Leibovitz shoot, featuring aforesaid extremely attractive people. The thing that strikes me most is just how GORGEOUS these men are in white tie.
(The women are mostly in gowns, which I find less interesting, but which might interest you more. Love Naomie Harris working a 20s/70s vibe, however, and Lupita Nyongo is as always stunning.)
Anyway, men in white tie! Do you have a favorite image? Even if you don't, I'll offer one: here's Fred Astaire from Top Hat. It's an "atmosphere that simply reeks with class." :)
May you feel like you're in the sweet spot of style today!
And yes, they've finally broken their notorious string of "we only see white people" covers, so good for them!

Cheers for your Tuesday.
Thanks for a lovely morning distraction!
Fred is my guy. I always think of Lord Peter as an English Fred...can't you just see him as the Harlequin in Murder Must Advertise?
I CAN see Mr Astaire as the Harlequin in that Sayers novel! And there's something LPW about Mr Astaire's long face, anyway...
Lovely mental image. Thanks, ALH!
There are a lot of attractive people on the cover!
A LOT. :)
Cheers and a good middle of the week to you, T!

Sometimes it's nice to take a pretty-people break on a hard day. :)
Idris Elba sort of renders speech unnecessary. :)
And so does young Cary Grant in white tie! Wowser!
Thanks for leaving Chitewel Ejiofor for me. :)
Enjoy Mr Ejiofor, my friend. :) (He is a handsome fella, too!)
Cheers and hugs!
