07:02 am - Wednesday Wish-Places: It's All Done with Mirrors
During my current work cycle, Tuesdays are long and weary-making, and by Wednesday I definitely need some escape. But I am expected to be here, working away in manner of busy bee or similar. How to escape that, even if just for a moment?

By thinking about magic passageways, of course.

The linked image is of what appears to be an open passageway, but is actually a concealed passageway under a bridge, hidden by a mirror. The luminous border is the light on the other side of the spinning mirror door.

(Read more about the cool installation, done in Northern Spain, here.)

Well, that art piece speaks to so many things I love -- old stone, subterfuge (the last episode of Sherlock Series 3 featured Leinster Gardens!), arches, light, and hidden flowing water beyond. It's a portal through which anything could happen. Even an escape from my Wednesday. :)

What do you love that makes you think of the good kind of escape?

May you find just what you need today.

Ah, magic portals! I love that installation!

I have so many: the gate to my garden, the path you see in my icon, the cover of a book, the inside of my eyelids...

Hope you escape from Wednesday soon!

I'm escaping the snowstorm with warm cats, soft jazz (though I keep humming Sing, Sing, Sing) and reading a lovely book.

And I want to escape into vintage silks and wools, which I blame you for, so on this snow day, I'll wear my mid-length kid gloves, instead.

Yes, a winding old passage has so many possibilities! (Some of them are scary, of course....)

Hugs!

Books! I wish I was reading one right now, but alas, I am not.

You write like this when you're actually physically in the office? My god. You are a goddess. Now go home, for heaven's sake.

No, no, I wrote this yesterday morning before walking Master Danger. :)

Cheers and a good working-from-home day to you!
