|08:49 am - Liquid Refreshment: Two Recommendations for USians|
For those in the glorious UK and/or Canada, these recommendations are probably not well suited (due to laws on international commerce and shipping), but for folk from these United States:
*My brother sent me tea from Piper's Loose Leaf Tea, a new company from the Mid-South, led by an expatriate Brit. The tea I got is 50 Greys, described thusly: Fine black tea flavored with the highest quality oil of bergamot, vanilla and cornflower blossoms. Incredibly aromatic and richly flavorful, finished with notes of tangerine, this tea is the ultimate blend of ‘grey’ teas. It smells as wonderful as it tastes (with a lovely smoky edge), and the packaging is gorgeous. The links go to their newly opened online shop. (I plan to try some green tea next.) I recommend!
*People who know me know that I proselytize for the Sonoma-based Benziger Winery (all wines made organically, and Estate wines made biodynamically). Last night I opened a bottle of Benziger 2012 Sauvignon Blanc, Frank Johnson Vineyards (Russian River Valley grapes). HOMG. So, so, so good. The tasting notes say: Using neutral oak barrel aging, stainless steel drums and tanks during fermentation, allows an extra layer of palate stimulating creamy texture. Brimming with citrus aromas of lime and grapefruit, this wine has a nice soft entry, which carries through the center palate with a vibrant, fresh, crisp finish. They aren't kidding about the lime notes. Unbelievably light yet full of flavor. Boy, do I recommend! :)
[Note: these are completely unsolicited and uncompensated recommendations.]
And now off to paint. Cheers, and may your Saturday be flavorful!
Simon DID get you up awfully early! [frowns at him]
But the tea is absolutely delightful. :)
Hugs and a great day, Rainkatt!
The tea sounds delicious...when I'm home and shopping again I'll have to check it out. Happy painting!
The tea really is extraordinarily good. :)
They both sound amazing.
I hope your painting is going well, too.
Check out the Piper's Tea link and tell me if any of the teas appealh to you. You DO have a birthday coming up. :)
The painting has in fact gone well. My shitty paintstrokes somehow came out looking like an intentional faux effect! I will call that a win. :)
Those both sound excellent!
They were! :)
Cheers and hugs, and a good Saturday night.
