|07:15 pm - last posting of Post Every Day Month, and a wish-place|
Oh, friends, it has been a month.
I apologize for the substandard posts this month, but somehow all the Work Crazy there could be coalesced right over my desk(s), and I have been scrambling all this month to keep up. But May is almost here, and I am hoping to breathe. Breathe. Breathe.
But anyway -- I made it. Ish.
And in the service of breathing, my Wednesday wish-place today would be a private library, cool and cozy and full of books, with a spot nearby to set up my laptop and write when the spirit moved me. Perhaps this 1950 study decorated by the great David Hicks would do. (I am v. partial to the strong saturated pink in that sofa.) Or perhaps this 1966 drawing room, also by David Hicks, would allow me to do that entertaining I was talking about AND curl up and read or write.
Where's your interior to wish upon today?
May you have a wonderful slide into the merry month of May, and thanks for reading along. :)
You have had kind of a crappy month, haven't you?
Alas, looks like May will be that kind of crappy for me, but thanks to you, I'm hearing Vanessa Redgrave from the soundtrack to Camelot, and The Merry Month of May. (That probably wasn't even her singing. I should figure out who it was.)
Exhausting month, plus agita, yes. I hope your May is MUCH better than that!
(And it was Marni Nixon singing in Camelot, per Wikipedia.)
Wait, where were you? All the sites I saw said it was VR!
Wikipedia, but after a further google, they seem to be wrong.
Oh, I sit corrected. According to Dr. Internet, it was her.
I would like to curl up in that 1950 study RIGHT NOW.
Isn't it GORGEOUS?
[hugs and refuge]

I like the study, although I'm not too fond of the pink sofa.
A nice quiet room, cool, not too brightly lit, but with good reading lights, comfy chairs with side tables handy for tea, writing materials and needlework supplies, and NO telephone. That's the ticket.
Hugs, and I hope that May treats you better.
Your description of your wish-place sounds great. :)
Cheers and happy start of May!
Hope you get some lazy days in May! Love that library.
My wish place gets closer-anywhere by a warm sea in the sun.
Hurrah for your place by a warm sea in the sun -- I hope you're close indeed. :)
I hope you have a less crazy May!
May will be slightly less crazy, I think. [fingers crossed]
Cheers and good thoughts for your Thursday!

Hope May is better for you.
I'm suffering bookshelf envy for both the study and the drawing room. My wish place for today would be my sitting-room, but completely redecorated, re-organised and totally tidy, but still containing my books and my tv (I still haven't got over the size of our new one *g*). Unfortunately I'm not going to be spending much time in it today.
I hope you get quality time in your sitting-room (with TV and books!!) soonest.
Hugs, K! Happy Thursday!
Hugs hugs, and a good 1 May to you, L!
That Berkeley house is FAB-U-LOUS. And I hope your wish-time there is relaxing!
Hugs and a happy Thursday.
It is wonderful that your own place (slightly cleaner) makes you happy, Rainkatt.
Hugs hugs and no tile saws today!
