|04:23 pm - Day #11, 30 Days of Appreciation: Ouch, Massage|
At this particular moment I'm saying Ouch a lot, but it's in a good way. That's what a deep massage will do for a wound-up woman. ;)
I've been feeling physically unbalanced lately (no remarks about mental balance, please ;)): part of this is carrying an overfull handbag-briefcase-equivalent on the same shoulder all the time, and part of this is bad ergonomics in my home computer setup, exacerbated by the overly sensitive laptop keyboard. Today's imbalance was made worse because it was raining for the morning walk with Master Danger, and halfway through the rather heavy umbrella collapsed. I spent three-quarters of a mile basically doing arm lifts in order to keep anything over my head at all.
So it was no surprise that when my regular massage therapist hit the first knots in my back, she said, "Oh, you're going to make me work today."
Ouch, massage, yay.
I'd have liked to curl up afterward, drink water, drowse, but I had errands to do and also Master Danger required a bath. So now I'm debating a glass of wine with dinner versus an ibuprofen, but at least I'm in balance.
By the way, the Tony Head album gets better on every listen. Hurrah!
May you find ease of whatever kind you need today.

You don't seem to have very good luck with umbrellas. :-)
Enjoy your Saturday!
I am the Umbrella Killer! :)
Cheers and hugs for your day.

I hope it helps:)
It's always useful to get one's posture attended to, every now and then. ;)
I recently went from giant shoulder bag to very modest little Bagolini, and from sitting at a desk to lounging with laptop, and my shoulder miseries are gone. Massage is an excellent idea, though, and your bag-and-computer life is probably not as amenable to change as mine right now.
Hey, wine and ibuprofen can mix, can't they? What's a little stomach lining?
My bag is always going to be fairly heavy, I fear -- several pairs of glasses will always be with me. ;)
I went with the wine and Doctor Who for pain relief.
Cheers and a lovely day to you!
So now I'm debating a glass of wine with dinner versus an ibuprofen</i<
Oh why not both? Live it up! ;-) Feel better soon, L.
Hee! I went with a glass of wine. :)
Cheers and hugs to you, C.

Let us know what you chose. I'd go with wine, but that's not for everyone :)
Wine was indeed the answer. One glass was just enough relaxation!
Happy Sunday, T!
That video is astonishing and lovely. Thank you for sharing, S!
[hugs for your day]
Argh for muscle woes, L. So glad you could get your regular masseuse to work on you! And also, boo for the rain, which looks like continuing all week...but yay, lower temperatures.
I hope you had wine last night and will again tonight. Its therapeutic properties are legitimate!
I hope you got to dance a lot this weekend, F!
I am currently still nursing some slight aches, but we persevere. Cheers and hugs and wine to you!
Massage is an essential part of life. :) I'm assuming you went with a lot of water (to flush out the toxins the massage jarred loose) and then wine. ((Hugs))
I did indeed drink a lot of water after the massage (although probably not as much as I should have)!
Hugs and massages to you, pal!
