|10:51 am - The Dog of the House on this Friday|
The Dog of the House does not as a rule like holidays. (Fewer opportunities for the hoi polloi to genuflect, adore, etc etc.)
Today, however, the Dog of the House has been feeling rather cheerful. She was invited to take a walk this cool(ish) subtropical morning, which pleased her so much that she galloped around the house, up on the loveseat, down to the study, turning on a dime, rumbling happily.
Once outside, she ran. Loped, insofar as a short-legged dog can lope. Usually she stops after the first burst, but today she kept going, gallop gallop gallop into the east and the rise of the sun. She didn't stop until we reached the park.
The walk was a longer one than we've been taking -- lots of fascinating new places to smell and new corners to turn. By the end, she was ready to be home (tongue out, happy pant, legs moving a little slower), and now she sleeps the sleep of a justly galloped-out dog.
May your Friday be full of galloping in the ways you like best.
That is so sweet! Happy animals are adorable. The cat has slept all day, continuing a trend she began on Wednesday.
Hurrah for sleeping cats and for your weekend. :-)

Aw:) *pats* her.
And wishes you a great Easter:)
A happy happy Easter weekend to you, L! [hugs a bunch]
I feel like I've been galloping since 6AM this morning. But just one class to go! :D
Have a great weekend, hon.
A great weekend to YOU, Chase -- and one weekend closer to rest! :-))
Lovely images of a happy dog. The cat of the house hasn't left the fireplace since it started raining two days ago, lazy creature.
Oh, the Dog of the House does her share of not-moving, too. :-)
Hugs and flowers and healing wished for you!
Griz is still recovering from his chilly escape the other night; twelve, he has decided, is a bit old to go frolic with the coyotes and roll in frozen cow manure (the night of his escape, it was 25.7F)
He's happier, though, even if he has a bit of a twinge in his hips when he jumps down from his chair.
Julia, listening to a discouraging weather report on the radio.
Griz has earned some rest, and I'm glad he's happier. May there be happy escapes for you, too!
A charming picture, DotH galloping into the sunrise. (that IS early.) I want a gallop and a nap just like that!
It was eight o'clock, so not too early. ;-)
Hugs and naps and joy!
Hugs and a wonderful Friday!
Yay for the galloping Dog of the House! :-)
The Dog of the House says "Yay for Gwynne!"
I love watching Corgis run! Hugs to you and the delightful Dog of the House!
The Dog of the House thanks you and invites you for a (virtual) walk. :-))
Happy weekend to you and yours!
I really love small dogs. Happy Easter. Eat some chocolate for me, will you? ((hugs))
Hee -- I've given up refined sugar for the moment, but I can always make an exception if you want me to, Nell!
The Dog of the House and I send you all the hugs, and wish you a happy Easter too.
I love the idea of morning walks. I don't think I've ever been awake early enough to take one, unless running for the bus counts, but they do sound wonderful.
Was there fog?
Living in the subtropics with a furball, I am almost required to take morning walks, in order to escape the heat of the day. ;-)
No fog -- it was perfectly crisp-clear, for probably the last time until November!
[hugs and joy for you]
The Dog of the House will gallop enough for Max, too. :-)
Hugs and joy today!
The (slightly less happy today) Dog of the House sends her greetings! May it be a good Sunday. :-)
I hope your Sunday has some galloping time for you and your doggie! (If it's not too hot, that is... it's getting warm here.)
Hugs and good thoughts for you!
