|01:26 pm - One Foot In Front of the Other|
Am anxious today, but to go forward... one foot in front of the other, yes?
*I ran a mile today, after the Dog of the House and I finished our walk. One foot down, then the other; New Balance shoes, hard on the pavement, kind of hard on my knees.
*Am working on reclaiming things from my closet, reworking, refreshing; the local alterations-person is getting rather a lot of business from me. (Side-note: "I do alterations" would be a perfect start for a fantasy -- or SF, if I did SF, which I do not -- story.)
*The Dog of the House has just returned from the groomer's, where she was de-furminated. That, too, seems like a perfect start for an urban fantasy/paranormal romance involving werewolves or similar. ;-)
*I need to go to San Francisco. (Research for the project after the Texas-project.) Of course, when I say need, I mean... not really. However, I also just bought a bottle of Benziger Sauvignon Blanc,** which is biodynamically farmed (and as seen on Oz and James's Big Wine Adventure, which is nice too). Research close to home! Yes!
**Cool video on the Benziger website, btw.
*Am struggling and anxious, but we persevere, we go on.
May your day be full of forward motion!

Good on you, She Who Walks And Runs!
So, you are spring-cleaning, and the Dog of the House has been spring-cleaned as well. "De-furminated" does sound rather fantastical.
Hugs and cheers to you.
I will struggle to accept graciously your kind words re my walking and running, for o, I am terrible at running! ;-) But thank you. [hugs]
Good Monday thoughts to you and yours, and may many usefuls be slain today!

You get full points for running at all. Me, I walk when I can, carefully watching the ground in front of me, and that's as good as it gets.
Anne, member in good standing (or should that be tripping) of the Klutz Klub
I'm a fully paid-up member of the Klutz Klub, too, as the mystery bruise on my forearm and the big bruises on my thigh (from running into a corner) will attest. ;-)
[shares tea and sympathy]
You can do it:)
Shares a glass with you.
[tops up your glass]
[offers some nice spring-like snacks]
[sends good thoughts and hugs]
De-furminated is a great word. :-)
I think it's trademarked (for the special comb+blade the groomers use), but yes... the potential in the word is high! ;-)
Hugs and good thoughts, Gwynne.
You do need to go to SF! and soon!
Hee -- I wish. My travel this summer is limited to a jaunt to the Plains to see my father; December will be London. However, I might have enough points on my credit card for a free flight in October...
[slaps self for improvidence]
[sends good thoughts to you and yours]
Well, with London in the future, won't pity you too much for missing SF. But in the Plains, you're half-way there....if Southwest flies anywhere near you, it's very, very cheap!
But hugs and wishes for a great week, wherever!
We go on, yes. :-) Take heart in the knowledge that you are not doing back-to-back sessions on rhymes and must sing in front of a bunch of five year olds tomorrow!
I bought my writing notebook and two gel pens. Now all I need is inspiration! Er, hooray!
I think San Francisco sounds great, and no excuse is needed to go there.
Planted lots of tubs today - morning glory and sweet peas, peppers and basil, something pretty I can't pronounce, and the tomatoes will go in when I get the grow-bag for them. Mission mostly accomplished.
YAY for writing and your new acquisitions to help therein [grin], and YAY for your planting of good things. :-)
Hugs and inspiration sent your way, A!
I am working on doing more than gazing at my closet, feeling overwhelmed by the enormity of the task, and then shutting the door.
::shares a glass of wine with you::
I can only do one bit of de-cluttering/de-accessioning at a time, to be honest... but I'll be painting my bedroom soon and need to have all that cleared out.
[pours you some of the Viognier I have left]
[sends hugs as well]
Hurrah for progress on all your fronts! :-)
And the Dog of the House thanks you. She is not unpleased with herself now, although grooming is not her favorite thing in the world. ;-)
Hugs and good things for you, L!
Thank you thank you! [beams]
And, you know, YOU are someone who could write that kickass story about someone who did "alterations." :-))
Go you on the spring cleaning and alterations :-D
Of course, I have to run so I can continue to fit in the clothes in my closet. Green living is hard. ;-)
Hugs and a wonderful Tuesday on the way for you!
Hooray for mile-running and for Sauvignon Blanc!
And many hugs.
I am the slowest runner in the known universe, it has to be said, so I'm loath to take your hooray for that. ;-) However, Sauvignon Blanc is a YAY!
[shares, after your work is done]
