|06:59 pm - 5 Minutes of Grasping for Gratitude, Post #11|
Work and a very necessary short yoga practice lie ahead of me this evening, but I wanted to take 5 minutes to post Things of Gratitude (because o, this day, it has sucked. Quotidian suckage, nothing major, but gods it's been bad).
Okay, so, 5 minutes:
*the word 'raffish'
*my Dandies Pinterest board (hey, here's Lyle Lovett)
*my leopard-print 2-inch T-bar heels, worn today with an old scarf
*Master Danger is doing well after some intestinal difficulties this past weekend
*a plumber has been booked for tomorrow, finally
*the herbal tea I'm drinking now for moral courage
*I didn't actually snap at the colleague who pushed yet another thing on my desk at close of business day
*I'm going to listen to THiddleston and HLaurie talk about The Night Manager here
*[insert placeholder because I'm stuck for something else at the moment]
Hope you have many MANY more things to be happy for today!

Yay leopard print heels!
They were happy-making. And they're from Boden. :)
Ah, "raffish" is indeed a fine word, and one I don't use often enough!
I hope tomorrow is better for you.
Today was indeed a smidge better. :)
Hurrah for raffishness well-deployed, and a happy evening to you!
Well, your missing thing can be that all days end, no matter how gruesome...
And glad you have come to the tea and yoga part of yours.
Alas, I had no yoga last night after all, because the work thing took twice as long as expected.
However, today was better. I cling to the slight improvement. :)
Happy end of the week to you!

Your outfit sounds fabulous! Have a good (and hopefully less hectic) day :)
The outfit was one of the few shining lights in yesterday. :)
Cheers and champagne for you!

[hugs] for the bad, cheers for the good!
I got two pieces of good news this morning: Emily saw two little baby beaks peeking up from the hummy nest (basically tiny gaping maws demanding MEAT), and
She's been officially admitted to the PhD program in linguistics at UCSD. I'll write more about the whole thing later, but those are good news indeed.
Oh HURRAH for hummingbirds and Emily's acceptance! Cheers for both!

Night Manager soon:)
The US doesn't get it until April, alas! But wait -- is it airing on Sunday nights?? Will I be able to catch at least the second episode when I'm there??
YES. It is a good day. :)
Hugs hugs hugs!
Oh dear for the dreadful day, but yes, raffish is a wonderful word and there is nothing more comforting than knowing a plumber is coming when you need one.
We have a painter cleaning up and a carpenter at work today and the rain has let up enough for them to continue on the endless project of the remodel. The garage doors might even work by tomorrow! (cheers faintly...)
hugs and a better Thursday!
Oh HURRAH for progress on the endless project. It sounds like you're almost there, almost, almost....
All the hugs!

Yeah for all!
And hugs and yays sent back your direction! :)
I hope your evening provided a multitude of things to choose from for your placeholder.
What tea is good for moral courage?
I've just begun drinking black teas again after a fairly long break from them. I can't say now why I stopped... or what made me begin again. But it's good stuff.
Gaah, I thought I'd responded to this!
(That particular evening continued foul, but the week improved.)
My tea for moral courage was the Piper's Cure blend. What black tea are you drinking? I'm trying to decide what I'll bring back from London, and will get you something if you like. :)
I am always impressed with the way in which you strive for, idk, inner awesomeness, while always looking fabulous. ((Hugs)))
I have not been looking fabulous lately, but you are super kind to say so. :)
All the hugs!
