|09:09 am - Going Underground|
Tuesday again, what-ho.
This morning I listened to an old mix-CD as I worked out, and one of the songs was my much-loved Jam singing "Going Underground." Thinking about how that works, actually -- in a land of stone, a land where the earth is stable (as ever it is on this changing planet, of course), going underground is a good thing. I think of hobbit-holes, I think of cellars as safehouses, I think of tunnels and caves and that sort of deliciousness.
(I think, however, of mines, and falling stones, and I light a candle for those below.)
Where I live, however, the earth is not stable, not stone. Tunneling in sand doesn't get one very far.
I've been tunneling in sand for the past week, alas alas. But we persevere.
So, thanks above-ground for
*The Fry Chronicles, which I zipped through yesterday, and while it fed my ever-present sense of utter incompetence, inferiority, and bleah, it was nevertheless a delicious read.
*last night's House, made more fabulous by having just read about the Young Laurie and then admiring the way he's grown up.
*grey days, perfect for tea and books and writing and talking.
*boots boots boots.
What tempts you above-ground these days? May you find only good things!

lends some stone supports.
Hugs and support sent right back, L!
I can't believe you've finished the book already! You must have inhaled it! I'm loving it and I'm only about ten chapters in. [squeeze]
I did zip right through it, yes. :-) Will go back and savor at a later date.
Happy reading, L, plus joy!

Underground would at least be cooler... Except for the ever-present threat of earthquake, of course. Sand doesn't sound too safe either.
Enjoy your day!
Hugs and cool sent your way!
Loving House. Usually a show loses its tension when the love/hate gets resolved into a real relationship, but so far House and Cutty are even more interesting as a couple.
Hope your tunneling succeeds or ends!
I thought the same: House has made the relationship as complicated and suspenseful as the lead-up. I imagine that will continue, too, since the conflicts still exist.

Boots boots boots! I would like some new boots (for when LA weather cooperates again).
[sends ice and good thoughts and hugs]
Even though summer has roared back with a vengeance (the car registerd 102 when I got out of yoga, but it WAS sitting i nthe sun), the leaves are beginning to turna nd I can begin to think about heavier yarns.. Yay, yarn colors!
(also, another vote against tunneling in the sand, though it may have some cooling properties)
::virtual hugs, as they are coooler than the real kind::
Oh, too hot, too hot! I send back virtual hugs and iced tea. May it be cool enough for heavier yarns soon!
I'm being tempted outside/away from home by the prospect of learning new things, and meeting new people.
I really admire your adventurous spirit! [applauds you]
