|04:05 pm - Conversation with Dog of the House|
[SCENE: Interior, sunny-cool afternoon. laurawise, in front of the desktop, pops open a Diet Coke and stares at the monitor, sighing.
The Dog of the House lies in Floating-Alligator pose in a stray sunbeam. She rolls her eyes.]
DOG OF THE HOUSE: What is it now?
LAURAWISE: I don't have anything to write about on LJ.
DOG OF THE HOUSE: So?
LAURAWISE: Well, I'm boring... Don't you roll your eyes at me again, Miss Thing.
DOG OF THE HOUSE: [sighs instead]
LAURAWISE: Boring because I've been busy unto madness with work and unexpected and not entirely enjoyable social events, and slightly brain-dead otherwise, and I think I only have maybe five hundred words in me today after that morning lecture-thingy and my hundred-six errands, and...
DOG OF THE HOUSE: Do shut up.
LAURAWISE: Excuse me?
DOG OF THE HOUSE: You're wasting words. Also, it's my suppertime.
LAURAWISE: [turns to LJ audience] I am so sorry, but... apparently I'm wasting words. I send hugs! Good thoughts! And the hope that someday, somehow, I shall be interesting!
DOG OF THE HOUSE: I am always interesting, of course. [before L can speak] No. Remember. Wasting words.
Hugs! Good thoughts! Things That Are Interesting!
I don't think you are boring!
(Although Riley probably thinks I am boring. Still, I bring the food and I saved his life. I'm not above mentioning those things, Buster!)
Have a good weekend, sweetie!
Bless you. [sends good beer, treats for Riley, and hugs hugs]
You are always interesting, dear. (Though, of course, the Dog of the House is even moreso, because dogs are like that.)
Thank you, W-P, and hugs from me and the admittedly more interesting Dog of the House! Happy weekend!
An interesting post. :)
I approve of the DotH's priorities, however, although perhaps not of the quality of her manners.
You know that the Dog of the House has become alarmingly princess-y of late... ;-)
Hugs! Champagne! Weekend!
The dog of the house is channeling mollythedog
. But she's wrong--you are
Bless and thanks and cake to you and yours! Because it is sometimes quite a blow to the self-esteem, living with the Dog of the House... ;-)
Hugs back! And Miss Thing sounds to be a member of the same professional organization as Zathras: Pets Who Keep Their Humans Humble.
Julia, for we're only kept around for opposible thumbs and mastry of HVAC
I will check for the Dog of the House's union card immediately, because that is SO VERY MUCH her attitude! ;-)
Hugs and good thoughts and a wonderful weekend to you and yours. :-)
Never boring. Never ever. DotH gets a bit... short when she's hungry, huh? [squeezes for you and belly rubs for Miss Thing]
Miss Dog of the House has a streak of "Bored now" a mile wide -- hungry or full. ;-)
But hugs, thanks, cupcakes, and thoughts of Ten in compromising positions!

You and the Small Dog are never boring! :-)
You'd be surprised, Gwynne. ;-)
Hugs hugs hugs! Happy Friday!

You are always interesting as, obviously, is the Dog of the House.
Hugs, good thoughts and interesting things of the pleasant variety to you and the DotH too :)
The Dog of the House is a star and a princess. I merely trail in her wake. :-))
Hugs, K, and a v. good weekend to you and yours!

Yay for unexpected social events:)
Well, it wasn't a wholly bad thing, it's true. ;-)
Hugs! Cakes! Pints of your favourite drink! More hugs!

Sweetie, I sympathize. I've even got things to day, and absolutely no motivation to say them. This time of year is so taxing.
Hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend. :)
I know you know, Chase. It is Just That Time of Year.
Good thoughts, time for your writing, time to breathe!
Hmm. Sounds like my mindset as I contemplate writing an actual post. Maybe on the weekend when the jetlag is well and truly conquered.
Hi hi you're back! [showers you with yarn and offers champagne] Also, hugs!
The dogs I'm hanging with this week are in total sympathy, but I point out that humans are always in hope of fascinating insights of deathless wisdom
And they mention that I never deliver those. Nor do I deliver the crackers and hummous that I'm happily devouring while they slaver on the rug.
DOG OF THE HOUSE: [disapprovingly] But crackers and hummus are delicious and should be shared!
This is what I have to put up with. ;-)
Hugs and a happy weekend!

You are not boring! Stop that!
The Dog of the House is correct, however; she is always interesting.
The Dog of the House is far, far more interesting than I am at the moment. Perhaps I will be able to get out of my own way soon. ;-)
But thanks, Anne, and hugs hugs -- a happy weekend to you and yours!
I see nothing boring here - frazzled, maybe. Picked on by DotH, most assuredly. Life will improve - you need loud music, genre your choice.
Your Majesty, humans are poor creatures and give little sport. Are there local lizards/toads/spiders to catch?
The Dog of the House: [sweetly] Thank you for your acknowledgment, it is MOST appreciated. Sadly, the season for lizards and toads has passed, and I must rely on my neighbour cats to provide the thrill of the chase. Unfortunately, as felines are, they are not as reliable as lizards and toads. [curls up in your lap]
And I send hugs and thanks for the excellent suggestion of music! Hugs just for you, and good thoughts for your weekend!
Of course you are interesting! Tut.
Hee, I know the floating-alligator pose. In fact I have been known to do it myself.
The floating-alligator pose, whilst offering challenges, can be v. refreshing. [nods]
And hi hi, A, and hugs and good almost-Sunday thoughts!
