|12:12 pm - Sing Sing Sing|
For reasons you'll hear more about next week -- spoilers, sweeties! -- in the last day or two I have been listening to 30s and 40s jazz. My love for the song stylings of Bing Crosby, for instance, is a real and true thing (despite the documented nastiness of Mr Crosby when at home). But I am also v.v. fond of swing without vocals.
One of my favorite songs, one I feel is particularly life-affirming and fierce, is "Sing, Sing, Sing" by Benny Goodman. (Yes, it's a cliche to like it. I embrace my corniness.) Anyhoo, so I put it on this morning.
The Dangerous Dog was sleeping the sleep of the obnoxious on the cool floor nearby. His ear twitched when the music started, but he remained at rest -- until Harry James's trumpet kicked in, at which point TDD leapt to his feet, cocked his head in manner of His Master's Voice, and then began to bark loud enough to drown out the music.
Everyone's a critic. :)
May you be able to listen to something you love today!

So, what music does TDD prefer, then?
The Dangerous Dog prefers no music.
(Interestingly, he will tolerate dance/workout music, to the point he'll sleep below the speakers. But nothing else. In this, he is like the Blonde Dog.)
Cheers to you!

Sings along with you, if off-key.
[watches the Dangerous Dog cringe]
[sends hugs your way]
Dangerous Dog the big band guy! Animals have such odd tastes in entertainment. Mop doesn't care much what music I play, but she's very taken with Ira Flatow and will even stop yowling in the car to hear him.
I hope you're also a swing dancer! I've always regretted being born a little too late for that. I have some friends who are quite good but I don't have the talent, sigh.

Alas, I don't swing dance. Like you, I have several friends who are awesome at it, to the point of doing demonstrations, but not me.
To have something that quiets a yowling cat is to be in possession of magic. :)))
Cheers and a happy day to you!
I like the Dangerous Dog's reaction to jazz trumpet. :-)
The Dangerous Dog has very marked reactions to a lot of things, it has to be said. ;)
Gene Krupa! I don't think it's a bit corny to like Benny Goodman. I grew up listening to my folks' big band records.
Perhaps the dangerous dog is saying he wants a set of drums.
Hurrah for big-band music and for you!
But there is no way ON THIS EARTH that I'm giving the Dangerous Dog more opportunities to make noise. He's a barker. ;)
Hugs and a great Friday!
TDD is amusing in his dislike for jazz trumpet :)
Have an excellent weekend!
Happy weekend to you, T, from me and the Dangerous Dog! :))
