|08:04 am - Haiku for Today|
Rainy days, Mondays
The combination is gloom
But not for my taste
Rain -- Grey skies light and
Dark, a textured torn blanket
Through which water comes
Inside: tea, toast, jam
Dark and light, champagne hidden
In fruit and sweetness
Umbrella and boots
Warding agents against the
Splash of tricky days
May you have delights on your Monday!

I love rainy days (and lightly snowing days). Just makes me want to curl up under a blanket and read a good book.
I hope your Monday has some of that excellent feeling! (Despite it being Monday.)
Cheers to you!

Sunny days, Mondays
supposedly autumn but
A lovely haiku for a lamentable heat, Gwynne. :)
Mmmmmm.....we had our rain on Saturday here in Connecticut...very old style New England here in Sufflield. Excellent for a rest cure.
Hurrah for your rest-cure weekend in New England! :)))
Hugs and a lovely easing into the week, ALH.
((Hugs)) We finally have fall here too. It hit while I was seeing a movie with a friend on Friday (Blue Jasmine, to be exact). When we went in it was around 73 degrees and sunny. When we came out it was pouring rain, cold, and dark and we got soaked to the skin walking around trying to find a place to have dinner. It was awesome. But I cannot equal your poetry-writing, so that description will have to do.
Oh HURRAH for your autumn's arrival! Here it's not fall, but I can feel it coming. :)
Hugs and good cheer and fall beauty!
Thanks, F, and happy Tuesday!
