|07:59 am - 5 Things to Know about *Sleepy Hollow*|
In a dashing hurry, but now that we have two episodes of Sleepy Hollow under our belts, let's recap sans any real spoilers:
*The producers need to send the casting agents a ginormous bonus, because Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie are working v.v.v. silly scripts like their lives depend on it.
*Which means they're both really, really good. Mison's got comic timing for days, Beharie keeps making really interesting choices in emotional scenes, they got the old X-Files chemistry.
*Also, Mr Mison's adorable.
*Coco Chanel famously said that one should get fully dressed and then take one accessory off. Dear Sleepy Hollow writers, you need to heed Madame Chanel's advice re storylines.
*Also -- back away from the Romany slurs, darlings.
And this is sort of a spoiler, but... should one wish to refrain from Christian blasphemy, the show has now given us a new and highly satisfying exclamation [note: not that a CHARACTER has said this]: "Sweet zombie John Cho!"
May you have eighteenth-century AND twenty-first-century delights today, possibly with George Washington.
All true! I haven't watched all of the second one--good job of making points without spoiling. Loved the scene of Ich discovering the shower, etc.
This works so much better for me than Once Upon A Time did.
I really wanted to like Once Upon A Time, but like you, I never clicked with it. Sleepy Hollow is a ride I'm willing to take, be it ever so silly. :)
Cheers to you!

I've really missed a show that has characters with chemistry like the X-Files.
Mison and Beharie play off each other brilliantly. :)

It's not a QUALITY program, but it's hugely enjoyable. [beams]
(Liked that cover, btw!)
I'm not expecting anything out of it, but I'm enjoying it very much. I think they have to slow up the breakneck speed and find a more comfortable rhythm, but I can see myself settling in.
They do really play well off of one another, and as you see, Mison's comic timing is brilliant.
I agree -- I think I'm enjoying it in part because I don't have any expectations of 'good' storytelling. It's just lighthearted horror-fun with pretty people who are good actors. :)
Cheers, JH, and a great day!
John Cho is the reason I want to keep watching the show and at the same time the reason I almost turned it off. Serious zombie issues. Also ouch.
I may also be intrigued by the sister.
The sister looks like a great addition! Orlando Jones (who plays the boss cop) tweeted the first Sarah-Connor-Terminator comment, which seems spot-on. :)
Hugs hugs, S!
