|06:46 pm - Let Us Talk Then, You and I....|
...Of bastardizing famous quotes from literature. (But how could one start a journal entry with "Let us go then," huh? Unless it's T.S.Eliot filtered through an 80s Valley Girl, "So like, let us go then and, you know, find that room? Where people are talking about that old artist guy, Michael Angel?" No.) Let us talk, then --
...Of a hawk coming down with great suddenness on a hedge right by me and Master Danger this morning. Its mottled wings shone with the first rays of the sun, and on the shabby small-town block, I thought of Yeats, and hawks' wells, and Old Ones. Let us talk, then --
...Of people named Tom. (And now I'm bastardizing Jim Carroll's famous song, "These are people named Tom, Tom, these are people named Tom.") Anyway, don't you find that some days what one needs is a famous British actor named Tom wielding a sword? Or possibly a less famous British actor named Tom playing a 19th-century Prince Hal, with flowing locks and open shirt? Or is that just me? Let us talk, then --
...Of a woman wearing a tartan skirt (very Westwood!) with the phrase "Rebel Poetry" emblazoned on it.
And now I go off, no longer talking because the allergies are taking my voice, but smiling because I can. May you talk of things you enjoy today!
I didn't know until this moment that what I needed to see was Tom H. wielding a sword. :-)
The last shot in that Tom H sequence, when he's frowning intensely, is extraordinarily life-affirming. :)
Hugs and a great rest of your Thursday!
As always, deep gratitude for finding images I didn't know to look for!
Happily watching the wind sweep leaves off the trees against a crisp autumnal blue sky...
Oh, what a great and vivid image you've shared! Thank you, ALH.
My sharing of Toms is only a partial recompense. :)
Hugs and a great evening!

It is very difficult to go wrong with Tom.
I agree wholeheartedly.
I raise a (virtual) glass to you, and happy Friday where you are! [hugs]
I was pleased with the Tom we got, whatever century(ies) that may have represented. I've been reading The Other Typist
with some interesting references to that same poem. Nice coincidence.
All these Toms are very good Toms indeed!
And hurrah for delightful coincidences, and hurrah for you. Happy start to your weekend. :)
I hope you get your voice back to full strength, and have a good Friday!
Thanks, S! May you have a wicked awesome Friday! [hugs hugs]
And the same back to you, L! Happy Friday! [hugs]
Happy Friday! Hope you have a good weekend.
Happy Friday to you, T. :)
