|04:39 pm - what I need is a present|
[looks at subject-line] Okay, that was a bit excessive.
But I have had a really less-than-great day, so I need something to treat myself. Now the question is... what should it be? I'm not sure.
While I'm pondering, I'll ask you -- what are YOUR favorite ways to treat yourself?
Whatever they are, may you treat yourself this weekend.
Awww, honey. If I had money, I'd send you flowers.
Hope your tomorrow is better!
Thank you, Cronopio, you're the best.
Happy happy Friday evening!
Giving myself the gift of a weekend at the beach, even as we write. Especially in October....
But failing that (when the house is rented or it's cold and rainy)--a nice piece of cheese and some peaty scotch, or sushi with friends, or some new wool to knit. Best of all, a readable book. But the universe has to cooperate and provide one.
Hurrah for your weekend at the beach! :)
I think I may find something mindless to read, possibly with good music on. Yep. That could be a plan.
Happy Friday evening!
Hope you find something fun! And that the weekend is much better than the week was.

*Sends hugs and big roses from the garden outside Elder Daughter's window*
I'd really love a day at home, by myself, with nothing to do but work on a project with a movie on the TV. Not likely to happen, alas, but that'd be a real treat. I'd settle for a good night's sleep, though.
Beautiful roses, thank you. :)
Hugs and sleep wished for you, A! Happy start of your weekend.
Well....I'm drinking Moet right now. And that's just because it's Friday. Other than that I tend to go to find an excuse to stay in a nice hotel :)
Ice cream works well too :)
Moet et Chandon is an excellent way to treat yourself. :)
Cheers! Happy Saturday!
Books and Boden come to mind. I hope you treat yourself to something nice!
I've treated myself enough from Boden in the past few months, I think. :)) And maybe someday it'll be cool enough to wear the clothes!
Hugs and a great start to your Saturday!
A bubble bath with 'Woman and Home' magazine, and candles. Or 'Good Housekeeping'. I am so sad. But it must have home decor, clothes, recipes, housekeeping tips, wellbeing and a tedious celeb interview. Christmas is coming and I will be treating myself to 'House Beautiful' or 'Ideal Home' as well, just to coo over the decorated houses and gift ideas.
A rug ove my knees, a guilty secret DVD (such as Criminal Minds) and a cocoa with a slug of brandy in it.
Putting a towel down by the fire after a bath and getting out the body lotions and creams from gift sets and actually using them.
All of those can be disrupted by the presence of a furry overlord, though, so be mindful!

I think tonight will be an evening for candlelight and good music -- thanks for reminding me about the efficacy of lighting candles! (And I read home magazines for fun, so I understand your magazine selections. ;))
Cheers to you and your furry overlord! Happy Saturday.
My default is a hot bath with delicious bath oils in my favorite scents, ideally with a glass of bubbly and possibly with ethereal music, but that part gets mislaid all too often.
When in doubt though, another skein of yarn nearly always helps!
In any case, I hope you've been able to put your feet up and relax at the very least...
Hugs and bubbly coming at you through the ether!
Alas, my tub is not currently operational for true baths. [note to self: call handyperson]
But we persevere, ALH, and hugs and good stuff sent your way!
Hope you have a cheering weekend!
Happy Saturday, Stevie, and a cheering weekend to you!
Books are wonderful, always! And this morning a large book on dandies I'd ordered months ago arrived, and so I have my treat. :)
Hugs and cheers for your day, L!

Can't go wrong with Cheese and Onion crisps.
Heee! I had routine bloodwork yesterday, so I fasted most of the day. Crisps would have been a nice way to break the fast. :)
Cheers and hugs!
No surprises here, my treats are usually books and cookies, and if I can get out of my own way, sometimes a trip to the museum.
In fact today, I borrowed two paperbacks by Seanan McGuire and the new Robin McKinley from a friend and got the newest Katie Fforde from the library. It's not like I don't have teetering piles of things to be read already, but I've had a cold and wanted something new.
I hope today has been better.
Alas for your cold! Hope you're feeling better. Cheers for the book acquisitions -- suddenly I'd like to read some Katie Fforde. :)
