06:37 pm - Daylight Saving Time
Because I have had a really less than pleasing day, I am going to focus quickly on a happier thing -- which for me (and I apologize to those who live in northern latitudes) is the end of Daylight Saving Time.

I do understand that someone who lives in, say, London or Seattle or similar would like a little more daylight at the end of their winter days. But for me, living in a more southerly latitude (in the Northern Hemisphere0, I love when evening begins early... because it will never be too early here.

When I was a child, nothing made me as happy as the closing in of evening 'round about 5:30 or so. Warm lamplight, warm laughter, and the bad things safely outside in the pleasing chill. Now that I am long past childhood, I still feel that happy feeling of safety at a late autumn sunset.

Let's make some tea and enjoy the early evenings, because spring will be here before we know it.

May you have lights upon lights, even as the evenings close in!

Thanks for the reminder! I'd totally forgotten that this is happening tomorrow.

I keep forgetting about it, even though I keep getting reminded every half hour or so!

If you didn't change your clocks before, do change them now. :)

Everybody else here complains about "the nights drawing in" but I rather like it. Early evenings are for comfort, tea, biscuits and a good book :)

*many hugs*

You and me both, baby, you and me both. We've been having a hard time getting out of bed on time in the mornings with it so dark!

And walking the Young Master in the dark loses its appeal, too....

Cheers and the right arrangement of sunshine today!

I've always been okay with DST until they extended it a few years ago. It's just much too dark in the morning an in March it's even worse.

Then again in a few weeks, we'll lose that morning light again, up where I am

Yes, November is too late for the change. Bring back early October end of DST!

Hugs, JH.

Luckily, I've always been a night person. We had a beautiful October here in Seattle, and I'm ready for a Winter spent hanging out in coffee shops pretending I'm a hipster. :) ((hugs))

I don't mind dawn, but I do mind long evenings of sunlight. I am just as happy to have the cozy warmth of autumn and winter days.

Wishing you warm lights of candles and fireplaces and favorite reading lamps {G}

It wasn't until reading this that I realized I hadn't changed any of the clocks.

I like having a little more light in the mornings- anything to make getting up easier.

Today is probably my most favourite day of the year. In a couple weeks we're only going to get 8 hours of daylight, but the extra sleep feels so decadent :)

Hurrah for extra sleep! (Even Master Danger let me rest a little longer than usual.)

Cheers, hugs, and a rested start to your week, T.

One more vote for moving the change back to the beginning of October where the change isn't so startling.

Nice to see some sun in the morning again...

:cheers!::

It makes absolutely no sense to change so late, does it....

Hugs and morning sun for you, ALH.
