|02:29 pm - Style Images|
I am not actually stylish today at all. (However, the clerk at the grocery store was apparently much taken with my twenty-year-old oxfordcloth shirt, bless him.) So, since I am rather drastically letting down the side, two images.
First, Irene Dunne, in contrasting polka-dots. Turner Classic Movies has been showing Irene Dunne films this month -- last week The Awful Truth, which I love with a love that is real; this week Theodora Goes Wild. Dunne is such a lovely presence, with her open face and her graceful person, and I love this image for capturing a sportswear feel but also allowing the fabric to drape so prettily. You know that Dunne could move in these clothes.
Second, Richard Armitage, in evening clothes. Besides the undeniable charms of a long lean man in black tie, I can't stop thinking about the composition of this photo: mirrors (I do love a good mirror-shot), squares, and color. Maybe you'll love it too.
May you have a delicious hit or two of style today, wherever you find it!

I love that Irene Dunne photo. I watched Theodora Goes Wild last night. I hadn't realized how hot young Melvyn Douglas was. :-)
Douglas was attractive, but for me the 1930s surprise heartthrob is always Fred MacMurray. :)
Cheers and hugs!
I used to have a black & white polka dot skirt that I loved, but never found the exact right top to go with it.
And yes, the mirror shot is gorgeous.
Clearly you needed a contrasting polka dot shirt! :))
Hugs and a great Sunday, S.

Love the Richard Armitage shot, the colour is gorgeous.
The reds and the gold-brown wood of the photo are just so rich. :)
Happy Sunday, plus hugs!
